Minecraft Servers allow players to play online with others or through a local network or internet. The game has a single-player server that runs internally. This was done to ensure consistency between the single-player and multiplayer game experiences and to allow for bug fixes and other changes to the game. Only the official server software is available online on Minecraft website. Java Edition is already in the release state.
